At NeuroHQ we specialise in Attention and behaviour related disorders, as this is where the greatest evidence base exists for Neurofeedback, however there is significant emerging evidence for Anxiety, Aspergers, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Depression, Dyslexia, Insomnia, Learning Difficulties, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Stress.
It's easy! All you need to do is phone NeuroHQ on 0409493092 to arrange an initial neurofeedback consultation, alternatively, click on the CONTACT link to fill out an online enquiry form and we will contact you.
For neurofeedback during the initial consultation we will be able to gain a better understanding of what your needs are and begin to formulate a treatment plan for you. We can then provide you with an estimate of how many sessions will be required and what costs will be involved. Because effective treatment requires a minimum of 10 sessions, we provide packages that can reduce the cost.
Not normally, you would need to check with your specific health insurance provider. If you are covered by NDIS you may be able to utilise that to receive neurofeedback
No, you don't need a referral. Just call us on 0409 493 092 to make an appointment time.
For general therapy usually 10 sessions are enough. For neurotherapy without an assessment this is a difficult question to answer. For Neurofeedback, some clients need as few as 15 sessions, while others will need upwards of 40 training sessions. In the early stages of treatment, we generally ask our clients for a time commitment of two 50 minute sessions per week as this is what is generally required to enable the training to hold and see changes. However, this can vary from client to client. Some people can manage more and some people require shorter sessions, this will be determined at the initial consultation.
On average, many of our clients find they experience significant improvements after completing between 10 and 20 hours of neurofeedback training. Some clients report positive changes after attending their first session. For others, it can take a few sessions before they tell us they feel noticeably different.
Yes you can. PLEASE NOTE: Your prescribed medications are VERY important. You must maintain the dose that your doctor has recommended. If your condition improves as a result of treatment at NeuroHQ, and you are considering a possible change to your medication dosage, you will need to speak with your doctor before making any changes.
There is no lower age limit, if you feel that your child could sit and watch a movie with a sensor attached to their scalp, then it is possible for them to benefit from Neurofeedback.
Unfortunately not. Neurofeedback is not a cure all. The likelihood of positive results is very high for the more straightforward cases. For people whose only issues involve inattention and/or impulse control there is approximately 80% success rate. Once the situation is more complex, there are other factors that have to be addressed which may or may not benefit from Neurofeedback.
